LAN Pros and Cons

 

Pros

  • Each room is able to support 24 student + 1 teacher workstations
  • Class B network with 254 available subnets enables future expansions 
  • LAN speed could be upgraded without change to wiring
  • A high level of security is implemented because of the seperate networks
  • Internet access available throughout the school
  • Cost of equipment was fairly economical

 

Cons

  • Decorative moulding was not taken into account
  •  another IDF could have been placed north-east of the
    building
